Rajesh Sharma was hospitalized in Kolkata earlier this month after suffering an insect bite which developed complications. The incident happened at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad where he was shooting for the Prabhas starrer ‘Fauzi’. The news of his poor health caused concern among his followers and well-wishers, who expressed concern for his recovery.
FWICE President confirms discharge, upcoming travel plans
The actor was recently discharged and is now recovering at home. He is also preparing to return to work soon. BN Tiwari, president of FWICE (Film Employees Federation of Western India), told Bollywood Hungama, “Rajesh Sharma ji was recently discharged. He is currently recuperating at his residence in Mumbai. He is also ready to travel abroad in the coming days to shoot for a project.”
How the incident unfolded on July 8
According to statements issued by actress Sudipta Chatterjee and the filmmaker-producer Agnidev Chatterjee soon after the July 8 incident, Sharma was bitten by the bug while chatting with local technicians in an area with thick vegetation nearby. Since the bite didn’t seem serious at the time, he skipped immediate medical attention and took his scheduled flight to Calcutta. Soon after, however, he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg, developed a high fever and became increasingly restless, leading to his admission to the city’s Manipal Hospital.
Updating his status days later
A few days later, Sudipta Chatterjee shared an update noting that the actor’s condition had improved, though he remained hospitalized at the time.

I hope Mahadev blesses him with a speedy and complete recovery. Jaldi theek ho ja yaar, abhi saath baith ke bhot hansna hai.”
