In a recent episode of Hey Jonas, Nick opened up about proposing to the actress on July 19, 2018, just two months into their relationship. The couple had gone to Greece to celebrate Priyankaen’s birthday, which falls on July 18, and Nick planned to pop the question at midnight the next day. However, a delayed flight derails his carefully arranged surprise, leaving him in the lurch because things won’t go as planned. Priyanka, meanwhile, recalled being baffled by Nick’s nervousness throughout the trip, having no idea a proposal was on the horizon.

Nick shared the anxious moments before his proposal to Priyanka, revealing how unexpected delays almost derailed his carefully laid plan. “When we got engaged, I had this plan to do it at midnight after her birthday. Our flight is delayed, which puts us back 3-4 hours,” Nick said, explaining that he was constantly calculating the time in his head while Priyanka didn’t notice. “Now I’m doing the time in my head, and she’s like, ‘What are you stressed about?'” Nick recalled.
Nick Jonas kept Priyanka in the dark
Priyanka admitted that she had absolutely no idea what was in store for her. “I don’t know. I think we’re just going on vacation,” he said. Nick shared that they finally landed in Greece very late, spending dinner nervously keeping track of the time. “I’m looking at the clock the whole time. And I’m like this is going to be a disaster. We’re not going to do well,” he shared. Priyanka, on the other hand, felt that something was off, but simply put it down to Nick’s personality. “I was wondering why he’s anxious on this holiday? Is that the kind of person he is?” he joked.
Nick Jonas finally pops the question
Around 2:30 am, just as Priyanka said she was going to bed, Nick told her he had one more gift for her. He walked back to get the ring, then got down on one knee to propose. Nick remembered that Priyanka’s yes didn’t come right away, she spent almost a minute staring at him while he nervously waited with the ring. “I said I have one more present for you. I went back to the room, took the ring and proposed. And everything went well. But she didn’t say yes right away. It took about 40-50 seconds. She was looking at me. I was on my knees like, ‘Do I have to put the ring on?'” she recalled. Priyanka, however, clarified that she had already put the ring on before she gave her answer.
