Prince Harry is feeling “enthusiastic” and “very energetic” after an important family meeting with King Charles at his private country home. The Duke of Sussex spent more than an hour with his father, accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, along with Queen Camilla.According to the Daily Mail, the duke’s friends described him as “very happy” that his family could join him during his visit to the UK. The meeting took place at Highgrove on Friday between about 3.30pm and 4pm, and the family stayed for about an hour. The meeting represented a remarkable moment of reconciliation during what had otherwise been a difficult week for Harry, who had recently suffered defeat in his High Court privacy case against a major newspaper publisher.
The circumstances of the family’s arrival in the United Kingdom
Although initially planning to join their father on his historic trip to London, Meghan and the children did not initially accompany Harry due to ongoing disputes over taxpayer-funded police protection. However, the Duchess decided to bring the family back to Britain for the brief meeting with the King at Highgrove. Meghan did not attend any of Harry’s subsequent engagements at the Invictus Games, where Harry competed in wheelchair rugby, pickleball and the Laser Run.

Friday was the first time in four years that the 77-year-old monarch, who continues to receive cancer treatment, had seen his grandchildren in person. A royal source defended the decision to reunite despite some criticism, offering a simple statement about the importance of family ties. “Blood is blood. Every journey of a thousand miles begins with one step,” the source said.

The day after meeting the King, Harry traveled to Warwickshire and took part in Scotty’s Little Soldiers summer festival, joining approximately 200 young people and their families at the event. However, before he left for Warwickshire, he was seen leaving Althorp House in Northamptonshire, the estate where his mother Princess Diana rests on a secluded island.The Duke had previously expressed his desire to take Meghan and their children to visit Diana’s final resting place. Although Meghan has visited once before, none of her young children had made the trip before this visit.
