Patrick J. Adams has outlined a detailed concept for a possible revival of the legal drama “Suits” that would bring back the original cast, including Meghan Markle’s character Rachel Zane. The 44-year-old actor shared his pitch on social media on Friday, July 3, laying out ideas for how the beloved series could be revived with contemporary storylines and the original ensemble cast.According to Adams’ speech shared on Instagram Stories, the revival would focus on a class action lawsuit against an artificial intelligence company. “Mike [Ross, played by Adams] and Rachel [Zane, played by Meghan] are working on a class-action lawsuit against a giant AI company when suddenly years of past indiscretions and illegal maneuvering at Pearson Hardman threaten to be revealed,” he wrote, setting up the central conflict that would bring the characters back together, People reports.

Impact on original characters and stories

Adams described how the revival would affect the various main characters from the original series. “Harvey [Specter, played by Gabriel Macht] and Donna’s [Paulsen, played by Sarah Rafferty] life could be over before it really begins. Jessica’s [Pearson, played by Gina Torres] the political career could be cut off at the knees. Louis [Litt, played by Rick Hoffman] he could lose the very thing he has worked so long for….the firm,” he wrote, detailing the stakes for each character.

<p>Adams suggested that the central character’s motivations would drive the narrative. “Once again, Mike’s desire to do good has brought this team back together with an opportunity to really wipe the slate clean and buy them all a future they can be proud of,” he explained.<span class=

Creative elements and spin-off possibilities

Adams included several creative ideas for the revival format. “I could throw in some skinny tie jokes and some classic bike montages. Give Harvey and Donna a baby, then do spin-offs in different cities following the different main characters,” he wrote, envisioning an expanded universe that extends beyond the main revival project. He concluded his presentation with confidence about the concept. “It writes itself. Let’s go. I’m ready,” Adams stated expressing his excitement to bring the show back.

<p>In a follow-up post, Adams acknowledged that his speech was speculative rather than based on insider information. “I actually don’t know anything about plans for a reunion, as far as I can tell, the powers that be left after ‘Suits LA,'” he wrote, referring to the recently concluded spinoff series.<span class=Despite not having been officially involved in any revitalization plans, Adams expressed his reasoning for proposing the concept. “But it seems strange not to try to get the band back together. The world is a corrupt melting pot and it would be fun to see the team try to do the right thing in a world bent on doing all the wrong things. Anyway. I’m available,” he added.

Background to the original series and streaming revival

‘Suits’ originally followed Mike, who finds himself working in a law firm alongside some of New York City’s top lawyers, including Harvey, Jessica and Louis. Donna is Harvey’s assistant, while Rachel begins the series as a paralegal. The series aired on one network from 2011 to 2019, concluding with the Season 9 finale. The legal drama saw a significant renaissance when it became available on streaming platforms in the summer of 2023, reaching a whole new audience years after its conclusion. The show’s streaming popularity reached unprecedented levels, with the drama setting records for the most viewed purchased content nearly four years after its series finale, racking up billions of minutes of viewing on streaming platforms during peak weeks.

The previous spin-off and Adams’ continued interest in the revival

In February 2024, a spin-off series titled “Suits: LA” was announced and launched on a major network. The spin-off, starring Stephen Amell as Los Angeles attorney Ted Black, an old friend of Harvey’s character from the original series, ran for one season before being canceled in May 2025.Adams has previously expressed interest in reviving the original cast through various formats. In June 2024, Adams and several of her legal drama co-stars, including Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer and Amanda Schull, gathered at a television festival in Austin, Texas to mark five years since the show’s series finale.During the event, Adams was asked about the possibility of a film adaptation, noting that other shows on the same network have been turned into film projects. “It’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, trying to get the band back together. It’s going to depend on a million things if that can happen,” Adams stated at the time. When pressed further about the feasibility, Adams expressed cautious optimism. “But is it possible? I think it’s possible,” he concluded, suggesting that while there are obstacles, a revival project remains within the realm of possibility.
