Nissan India has just launched the new Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the new Tekton online or visit the nearest dealer to pay Rs 21,000 for booking, with deliveries starting from July 20. The SUV will compete with mid-size SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Volkswagen Taigun in the Indian market. The new Tekton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be produced at Renault’s plant in Tamil Nadu. Nissan Tekton and Renault Duster: Price, model The new Nissan Tekton is available in six variants: Visia, Visia plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna plus, priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). The Renault Duster is available in five variants: Genuine, Evolution, Technology, Technology+ and Signature, priced from Rs 10.29 lakh to Rs 18.09 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Pricing starts at Rs 10.29 lakh and is available for customers who book the car before March 2026; thereafter, standard prices start from Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nissan Tekton is available in 6 variants, one more than the Renault Duster’s 5, and the entire range is priced at a whopping Rs 50,000.

Nissan Tekton vs Renault Duster: DimensionsBoth the 2026 Nissan Tekton and the 2026 Renault Duster are based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B modular platform. However, their overall dimensions differ slightly. The dimensions of the Tekton are 4,348 mm long, 1,815 mm wide, 1,674 mm high, and the wheelbase is 2,657 mm. By comparison, the Duster has the same length at 4,348mm, the same wheelbase at 2,657mm, but is 2mm narrower at 1,813mm and 18mm shorter at 1,656mm.

Nissan Tekton vs. Renault Duster: Engine optionsThe new Nissan Tekton and Renault Duster come with the same engine options – 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 100 hp of power and 166 Nm of torque, mated only to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The other engine option is a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine developing 163bhp, 280Nm and mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Duster, on the other hand, will also come with a 109-horsepower 1.8-liter hybrid petrol engine paired with a 49-horsepower electric motor and a 20-horsepower hybrid starter generator (HSG) paired with a 1.4 kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160 hp and 172 Nm. The hybrid system will be launched during the festive season this year.
