The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai, have announced the results of the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026.Candidates who have appeared for the entrance exam can now check their results and ranks through the official website, nestexam.in.To get NEST 2026 result, candidates need to login using their application number, date of birth (as mentioned on credit card), and captcha code.Earlier, the government released the final answer key for NEST 2026 on June 17.
How to check NEST 2026 results
Candidates can follow the steps given below to download their admit cards:
- Visit the official website of nestexam.in.
- Click on the link that says, “NEST 2026 Results – Check Your Eligibility”.
- Enter your application number, date of birth, and captcha code.
- Click on the register button.
- Your result will appear on the screen.
- Download the scorecard and save it for future reference.
- Take the printouts for future reference.

NEST 2026 exam more
The NEST 2026 exam was held online on June 6 from 2 pm to 5 pm in 140 exam centers across the country.NEST serves as an entrance exam for the five-year Integrated Master of Science (MSc) program offered by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS.
Availability of seats
A total of 261 seats are available through NEST 2026 admissions.Seat allocation is as follows:
- National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar: 202 seats
- University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai: 59 seats
About NEST
NEST is a compulsory computer-based entrance exam for students seeking admission to Integrated MSc programs offered by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS.All these institutes are independent organizations established by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, in 2007. Accreditation is given on the basis of candidates’ performance in the NEST exam and the merit list prepared by the participating institutes.Candidates are advised to check their results carefully and keep a copy of the result for reference during admission and counselling.
