Maharashtra TET paper leak: what happens next? New exam date, new admit card and refund policy
The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has postponed the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) 2026, which was scheduled to be held on June 28, after a questionable paper was leaked in Bhiwandi. The decision was made after officials confirmed that some of the items seized by the police were related to the questions of the TET paper. In a statement, the council said the examination will be conducted at 1,028 centers across Maharashtra. It said that after the irregularities reported in the NEET 2026 examination, several safeguards have already been put in place to ensure fair conduct of the TET. However, based on the information received earlier on June 27, the Bhiwandi police conducted a raid at the place where some people allegedly had information about the paper. On verification, MSCE officials found that some of the returned questions were similar to the TET June 2026 paper. A criminal case was registered, and the council said it had suspended the exam to ensure transparency and conduct a thorough investigation.
When is the new one MAHA TET exam date announced?
MSCE has not announced a rescheduled date. The council said only that the new date would be published later on its official website. Candidates are advised to only check the portal for updates.
Do candidates need to download new admit card?
The council has not clarified whether the hall tickets already issued for the June 28 examination will remain valid or whether new admit cards will be released. Candidates who downloaded their admit cards after they were released on June 16 should keep them until MSCE issues further instructions.
Will the exam schedule change?
There has been no announcement of any change in the exam pattern. As per available information, MAHA TET will continue to be conducted offline. Both Paper I and Paper II will have 150 multiple choice questions carrying one mark. Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete each paper, and there is no wrong marking.
Do you want a refund?
So far, MSCE has not announced the refund of the examination fees. The official notification only confirms that the exam has been stopped. It does not mention reimbursement of examination fees or compensation for travel or accommodation. Fans will have to wait for any further announcement from the council before making any decisions. MSCE has said that all updates regarding the revised exam date and other announcements will be published on the official website of MAHA TET. Applicants are advised to rely only on communication with the authorities and to avoid rumors while the investigation of the suspected papers continues.
