‘Forbidden Fruits’ actress Lili Reinhart is taking the world by storm again as the latest teaser for ‘The Love Hypothesis’ was shared online. After the release, Reinhart spoke to the crowd at the ‘Obsessed Fest Panel,’ where she revealed how she came up with the script. PEOPLE reported that the actress revealed that she had not read Hazelwood’s book when she received the script.He also added, “The script was brought to me. I hadn’t read the book yet, but as soon as I got the script, I read the script, and then I went to read the book, and then I was convinced to do it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to do a romantic comedy, but then he sold me on the idea very quickly.” She stars alongside him Tom Batemanwho also weighed in on the matter, sharing that he wasn’t sure about doing a romantic comedy either; however, he “read it and fell in love with the characters and the world.”Speaking about what she loved most about the book and working on The Love Hypothesis, Reinhart added, “I think it felt, as much as it could, like a really timeless romantic comedy. I think that’s what the script was able to feel like to me, while still keeping the integrity of the two characters and doing the book justice. [which] I think our writer, Sarah, absolutely did. So yes, the heart of the book is in the movie.”

Reinhart also added that she is well aware of the expectations for the film and hopes that everyone will like it. He concluded: “It’s been a year of hype building. I hope book lovers are happy and I hope people who haven’t read the book are happy too.”Bateman revealed that they both put a lot of effort into the project, adding: “I really think it’s very difficult when you’re adapting something for film because each of you who love the book has your own idea of what these characters are going to be. Everyone involved in this had such a deep love for the book and for doing justice to everyone who loves it.”
Plot of ‘The Hypothesis of Love’
The film, based on Ali Hazelwood’s novel, follows PhD student Olive and her professor, Dr. Carlsen, who begin a fake relationship to test their theories about falling in love. In addition to Reinhart and Bateman, the film also stars Rachel Marsh as Anh, Jaboukie Young-White as Malcolm, Nicholas Duvernay as Jeremy and Arty Froushan as Tom. The film will be released on September 23, 2026 on Prime Video.
