Jay Z apologizes after Sunday concert faces three-hour delay.

While Jay Z is currently on its 30th anniversary series tour, one of its last performances ended up generating considerable criticism. The rapper was scheduled to perform the finale of his three-night run Sunday at Yankee Stadium, but attendees faced a three-hour delay. After an online debate about the incident, the singer finally took the stage to perform his setlist and address the delay.

Jay Z says the concert delay was for crowd safety

As soon as the rapper took the stage, he apologized for the delay and explained what had happened. He shared, “Let me tell you about the delay. It was like 10,000 people outside, and we locked all the doors, and someone ran the door. They locked the door for your safety and the safety of everyone outside. There are 10,000 people outside; I don’t want to start the music and people get trampled. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was okay. I appreciate your patience.”The show started after 12:00 PM ET, about three hours later than originally scheduled, and ended around 2:45 AM ET.
