While fans are excited after watching Thalapathy Vijay”One last dance” in theaters, director H. Vinoth shared an exciting update about ‘Jana Nayagan’. The filmmaker revealed at a recent event that six scenes removed from the final theatrical cut may be restored and screened in theaters soon. The announcement came during the film’s success celebration in Chennai, where the cast and crew interacted with fans after the film’s impressive theatrical run.When asked if the film had any deleted footage, Vinoth confirmed that several sequences were left out of the final version.
Comedy, action and emotional moments
Talking about the deleted portions, H. Vinoth explained that the scenes present different shades of Vijay’s character and include a balanced mix of humor, action and emotions. As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, “Yes, there are six scenes that we had deleted. There are two funny (comedy) scenes with sir (Vijay), two action scenes and two more emotional scenes.”
When will the new version come out?
Vinoth also addressed questions about when the deleted scenes might be part of the theatrical version. The director clarified that the final decision rests with the production team. He indicated that discussions are underway. The revised version could hit theaters next week. He said, “It depends on what production I have planned.” When the host of the event suggested that the director should have the final say, Vinoth replied, “No, I’m ready. We’ll think about adding them from the next week or so.”An official update is awaited from the ‘Jana Nayagan’ team.
‘Jana Nayagan’ witnesses the slowdown on Monday
Meanwhile, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has entered its first working week after enjoying a strong opening weekend at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 10.15 crore nett in India on the 5th.The latest figure represents a 68.3% drop compared to Sunday’s net collection of Rs 32 crore. With Day 5 collections included, “Jana Nayagan” has taken its India net collection to Rs 134.90 crore, while India’s gross collection has reached Rs 157.74 crore.On Monday, “Jana Nayagan” grossed Rs 4 crore internationally, taking its overseas total to Rs 75.50 crore gross. The worldwide gross has now risen to around Rs 233.24 crore.If additional scenes are added next week, then ‘Jana Nayagan’ may witness an increase in its collections further. Apart from Vijay, the actioner features Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
