Jamia Millia Islamia has changed the examination rules to allow final year students to clear their backlog through the classroom examination.

For many final year students, one missed paper can delay studies by months. Jamia Millia Islamia has now changed its admission rules to reduce the wait, allowing eligible students to appear directly for the chamber exam instead of waiting for the regular exam. The decision was approved by the Executive Council of the university through the amendment of Ordinance-15, according to PTI.

What changes for final year students

Under the revised rules, students of the final semester or the final year under the annual system who have the remaining papers of any previous semester or previous year will be eligible to write the room examination after the final semester or the final annual examination. The university said the examination schedule for the room will be announced separately by the Office of the Controller of Examinations. This scholarship is only applicable to students enrolled in full-time courses. Those pursuing programs through distance learning will not be considered under the revised rules.

The review process has also been revised

The amendment to Section 24.4 of Ordinance-15 states that room tests will not normally be conducted in courses that follow the progression method. However, there has been an exception for final year or final semester students, which allows them to clear the remaining notes by passing the room test. The Executive Council has also changed the review policy. Under the revised Section 23.1 of Ordinance-15, final year students may choose to appear directly in the room test instead of requesting to review their answers.Students in other years will continue to have the opportunity to apply for re-evaluation within 15 days of the declaration of the results, as per the existing policy, as per PTI.
