Dhanush has been in the headlines not only for his upcoming films but also for rumors of a possible political entry. Currently, the actor is busy with a full lineup that includes ‘OM’, a project with which Maria Selvarajand biographical films based on Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam. Amid these announcements, a photograph of a fan club flag featuring Dhanush went viral on social media, leading to speculation that the actor was preparing for a political launch.
Subramaniam Siva rejects demands for a new political flag
Rumors gathered steam after the flag carried the slogan “Ennampol Than Vaazhkai”, with many claiming it was a newly introduced political symbol. However, director and fan club leader Subramaniam Siva strongly denied the reports during a recent film event. “This is not a newly created flag. Members of our fan club have been using this same flag for almost 15 years during weddings, ear piercing ceremonies, movie premieres and other celebrations,” he said, according to Nakkheeran. He added, “Some fans redesigned it in a smaller format to fit cars during the fan club meet this year. People mistakenly assumed it was a new flag and linked it to Dhanush’s political entry.” His clarification has effectively put an end to speculation about the viral image.
Kasthuri Raja answers questions about Dhanush’s entry into politics
Dhanush’s father, filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, was also asked about the actor’s political future at a recent public event. Earlier, he had commented that his family members, including his children and grandchildren, might enter politics one day. When asked specifically about Dhanush, he chose not to make any announcements. “As I said earlier, this question should be asked to Dhanush himself,” declared Kasthuri Raja, avoiding further speculation. His measured response has been seen as a refusal to confirm any political plan.
Dhanush’s film focus remains strong as political rumors continue
With Vijay’s successful transition from cinema to politics, discussions about which actor might follow a similar path have become commonplace in Tamil film circles. Dhanush’s name has come up frequently in these conversations, especially when the fan club’s activities garner attention online. Despite the ongoing rumours, both Subramaniam Siva and Kasthuri Raja have made it clear that there is no official confirmation of a political move. Meanwhile, Dhanush is busy with his film commitments, with a number of big projects lined up for release in the coming years.
