IIT Kanpur B.Cyberadmission 2026 shortlist released on iitk.ac.in; entrance exam on July 5
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has released the list of candidates for admission to its Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber.) program for the 2026 academic session. Candidates who have applied for this course can check if they have been selected by visiting the official website, iitk.ac.in, and searching for their application number.According to the organization, 120 people have been selected to take the official exam.IIT Kanpur has informed that the selected candidates will receive the confirmation email along with the confirmation form by the end of June 29, 2026.Candidates whose names appear in the shortlist but do not receive the email can contact the institute by writing to office_is@iitk.ac.in.The application process for the B.Cyber program started on June 15 and closed on June 25, 2026. The list was published on June 29, 2026.
The system of official examinations
The entrance exam for B.Cyber will be held on July 5, 2026, at the IIT Kanpur campus.Candidates should come to the examination center by 9:00 AM. Entrance to the examination center will be closed at 9:45 AM, and no one will be allowed to enter after that time.The guidelines and admission process will be completed by 10:00 AM, while the entrance exam will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.The institute will announce the result of the admission test on July 8, 2026. The selected candidates will have to report to IIT Kanpur on July 21, 2026, to complete the admission process.
Important tips for candidates
Candidates must have a valid photo proof and inform the examination center on time. They will also need to sign a consent form before the assessment can begin.The board has instructed the students to use only the computers, login credentials, and authorized devices provided during the examination. They must remain at their workstation throughout the exam and inform the proctor immediately if they experience any problems.Use of unauthorized devices, Internet access, email, texting, or any external content is prohibited. Candidates should also refrain from communicating with other participants, sharing sensitive information, or attempting to interfere with the scoring system. Any violation of the rules will result in immediate disqualification.

The B.Cyber certification exam, which will be held in the form of a hackathon, will cover topics such as:

- Online security
- API security
- Internet security
- Reverse engineering
- Open-source intelligence (OSINT)
