Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has extended the last date to apply for Probationary Officer (PO) and Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment 2026. Eligible candidates can now send their applications till July 26, 2026, through the website, ibps.in.The recruitment drive seeks to fill 6,715 Probationary Officer posts and 745 Specialist Officer posts in participating banks.
IBPS PA, SO recruitment 2026 : Eligibility
For the posts of Probationary Officer (PO), candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. They should also have a valid diploma or degree certificate at the time of online registration and also mention their educational background while filling the application form.For Specialist Officer (SO) jobs, educational qualifications vary depending on the job. IBPS PO, SO recruitment 2026: Selection process
For Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment, the selection process includes an initial test, a general test, and a personality test.The preliminary exam will have 100 questions of 100 marks and will be held for 60 minutes. The main exam will have 170 questions of 200 marks and the duration will be 160 minutes.There is a negative sign in the objective test. One fourth (0.25) of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer, while unanswered questions will not incur any penalty.For the recruitment of Specialist Officer (SO), candidates will undergo online test, main online test, and interview. Those who qualify the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the examination. The final selection will be based on the marks secured in the main examination and interview.

Application fees
Candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories will have to pay a fee of ₹ 850.Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories will have to pay ₹175.The amount can be paid through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. Applicants are advised to complete the application process before the last date of July 26, 2026.
