He wanted the father’s job, the son says he hired assassins to kill him
A shocking case has come to light in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, where a man has been arrested for hiring his father’s killers to get a job as a charity, police said. The victim, Tuleshwar Nonia, worked at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) in Barora and was just two years away from retirement. According to the police, his son Vijay Chauhan wanted a permanent job at the colliery after his father’s death and planned to kill two people, Amit Singh and Akhilesh Mallah. All three have been arrested.Dhanbad Rural Superintendent of Police S Mohammed Yakub said, “Nonia was a coal worker in the BCCL colliery in Barora. He had only two years of service in BCCL. His son Vijay Chauhan wanted to get a permanent job at the colliery on charitable grounds after his father’s death and plotted to kill his father. “Police said Chauhan had offered Rs 10 lakh to Singh and Mallah for the murder, although no payment was made before the case.According to the investigation, Chauhan allegedly created an alibi by telling his father that he was going to Bihar’s Aurangabad to attend a relative’s wedding. He left home on Friday morning.Police said that after Nonia finished her work on the night of June 19, Singh and Mallah gave her a ride on a motorcycle. He is said to have taken her to a secret place, where they killed her by hitting her with a large stone.Investigators said the accused later mutilated Nonia’s face so that she could not be identified and dragged the body to the highway to make the killer look like a road accident. The case took a turn when the police examined the CCTV footage from BCCL at AMP Colliery. According to Yakub, the video showed Nonia riding a motorcycle with Singh and Mallah.“The CCTV footage from the BCCL system at AMP Colliery clearly shows that Nonia was riding the same motorcycle with Singh and Mallah. In doing so, the police detained both the men and interrogated them thoroughly, and finally the whole truth came out,” said the official. The police also said that Mallah has a record and was jailed in cases of theft of coal and diesel which were registered at the Madhuban police station.
