Sunita Ahuja has addressed the criticism she often receives for being outspoken and using strong language despite her religious beliefs. Days after leaving the Netflix reality show ‘Lock Upp 2’, Govinda‘s wife shared why she believes in standing up for herself instead of staying silent when faced with disrespect or provocation. In an interview with ANI, Sunita wondered why people expect others to accept insults silently instead of responding to them.“Mujhe ek baat bataiye, agar aapko koi aake gaali dega toh aap kya bologe, ‘Bhaiya aapne ek diya mujhe, aapko do deta hoon, aap do aur de do?’ That’s what I want hoon a main. Agar aapko koi ungli karega toh aap kya bonge, ‘Bhaiya aur kar lo?’ I want it, bro.”( “Tell me something, if someone comes and abuses you, what are you supposed to say? ‘Brother, you insulted me, let me give you two and then give me two more?’ I’m not that stupid. If someone provokes you, you’re expected to say, ‘Go ahead, do more?’ Of course not.” )
Sunita Ahuja encourages women to stand up for themselves
Sunita also spoke about why she believes women should not feel pressured to silently endure disrespect or hardship. According to her, every woman deserves to prioritize herself and speak when necessary.“Main woh auraton mein se nahi hoon ki sab cheez bardasht karke baithi rahoon. Aur main isse sab auraton ko yahi bolti hoon ki bhaiya apni zindagi jiyo aur apne liye jiyo. Kya galat bolti hoon? Aur kaun si aurat gaali nahi deti hai, aap bata mujhe yeh?”(“I’m not one of those women who will sit back and tolerate everything. I tell every woman to live her own life and live for herself. What’s wrong with saying that? And tell me, what woman has ever used abusive language?”)
Sunita Ahuja’s exit from ‘Lock Up 2’
Sunita’s journey in ‘Lock Upp 2’ ended after she quit the reality show due to health issues. During the “Judgment Day” episode, Govinda and his daughter Tina Ahuja made a special appearance before Sunita bid adieu to the competition.
