Germany appears to be one of the fastest growing study abroad destinations for Indian students, with jobs increasing 370% annually in the first year of 2026, according to the Germany Study-to-Work Report – Volume I, Issue H1 2026 released by Leap Scholar.The report, based on advice and data from more than 1,24,000 prospective students in India between January and June 2026, shows that students are increasingly choosing Germany based on affordability, job prospects, post-graduation employment opportunities and long-term career outcomes. AI and technology programs attract many applicantsTechnology-led programs showed significant growth in student interest during H1 2026. According to the report, applications for MSc Artificial Intelligence programs increased by 600% compared to last year.Computer Science programs recorded a 273% increase, while the combination of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence grew by 173%. At the same time, interest in the MBA dropped by 13%, indicating a greater preference for professional programs related to career opportunities.Graduate programs remained the top choice among Indian applicants, accounting for 82% of all German applications.
