The University of Delhi (DU) has released its academic calendar for the session 2026-27, giving students and colleges a clear timeline for the upcoming academic year. The schedule covers the commencement of classes, semester breaks, practical exams, mental exams and holidays for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes.According to the academic calendar, classes for odd semesters—Semester I, III, V and VII, will begin on July 28, 2026.The University has scheduled an Autumn Break from October 18 to October 25, 2026. Regular classes will resume on October 26 after a one-week break. The break falls in the middle of the semester, before students enter the exam period.
Practical exams and holiday planning from November 20
As the semester draws to a close, preparation vacations, class breaks and mandatory exams will begin on November 20, 2026.This time will allow students to prepare for the end of semester exams while departments evaluate them as needed.
The psychological test will start from December 4
The final semester theory examination of the odd semester will begin on December 4, 2026. The university has said that the detailed examination time will be notified separately.After the exams, the students will enjoy the Winter Break from December 25 to December 31, 2026.DU odd semester schedule
The academic calendar also shows the schedule of semesters – Semester II, IV, VI and VIII. Classes for this semester will begin on January 1, 2027. Students will have a mid-semester break from March 21 to March 28, and classes will resume on March 29.The preparatory break and qualifying exams will begin on April 30, while the conceptual exam is scheduled to begin from May 13, 2027.This academic session will end with the Summer Break from June 3 to July 20, 2027.DU even the semester schedule

CSAS UG and PG admission is ongoing
The release of the academic calendar comes as the university continues its admissions process for the 2026-27 academic year.The CSAS UG registration portal, which opened on June 26, is accepting undergraduate applications.Meanwhile, the higher education admission process is also underway. Candidates who have not already registered for CSAS PG 2026 can participate in the counseling process through the Mid-Entry process by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000. The university has set July 4, 2026, as the last date to register under the Mid-Entry window.
