Vishnu Vishal reveals how Aamir Khan helped him through difficult times
Vishnu Vishal spoke about his deep friendship with the Bollywood superstar aamir Khan and the invaluable advice he received during one of the most challenging periods of his career in an interview with Variety India. “Whenever I felt down, I came to Aamir sir. He always encouraged me and reminded me that there is always a chance to bounce back,” said Vishnu. Recalling Aamir’s words, he added, “He told me, ‘Vishnu, if you enter a negative zone, you will always remain there. You are talented, I have seen your movies. You understand scripts well. Just stay focused. In the cinema there are ups and downs. Even I have faced it. Laal Singh Chaddha did not do well. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. So don’t lose hope.” Vishnu said those words stuck with him and gave him the confidence to keep moving forward.
Aamir Khan praises for ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’
The actor also shared that Aamir Khan was one of the first people he informed after ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ opened strongly at the box office. “I sent him a screenshot of the weekend collections after the first weekend. He was very happy and called me right away,” recalled Vishnu. He added: “He said to me, ‘Vishnu, I’m so happy you’ve recovered’. To hear that from him made this achievement even more special.” Vishnu also revealed that their friendship grew when Aamir Khan stayed with his family in Chennai during his mother’s treatment. Later, the Bollywood star also helped Vishnu Vishal and his wife Jwala Gutta by introducing them to an IVF specialist in Mumbai. The actor even shared that Aamir Khan inspired the name of his daughter, Mira.
The actor remains focused on meaningful films after a successful comeback
Even though “Gatta Kusthi 2” has restored his winning streak, Vishnu Vishal says he hasn’t changed the way he selects films. “I am not changing anything. I believe every film has its own audience. My only aim is to make a good film, not to chase numbers,” he said. The actor is currently working on ‘Irandu Vaanam’, his first full-fledged romantic film, and another boxing-based project directed by Arunraja Kamaraj.
