‘Don’t dare to leave India’: Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath to successful students | India News
Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath’s comments are trending on social media, where he says young Indians should create their careers at home and not look outside for opportunities. The 46-year-old businessman says, “My golden life advice to children is to do whatever you want but don’t dare to leave India.”In a LinkedIn post, Kamath said that when students ask him for advice, he tells them to stay in India. According to him, the reason is not just to prevent brain drain or fulfill the duty to go to the world.“Whenever students ask me for advice, I say, stay in India. Not because we need to avoid brain drain or because there is a responsibility to the country, but because India will have the best opportunities in the future,” he wrote.Kamath also said that the youth of India is one of the most powerful people in the country. According to economist Shruti Rajagopalan’s observations, one in five people under the age of 25 in the world are from India.“In the whole world, one in five people under 25 is from India. 47% of Indians, about 650 million, are under 25 years old. This group of young Indians has unique characteristics,” he wrote, explaining that they are digital natives trained with global ambitions.

Kamath also said that the construction industry in India benefits the country in the long run. In the post, he said wealth must be created locally if India wants to grow inclusively.“I have said this before: for India to grow inclusively, wealth must be created locally. Today, most of the success of domestic startups goes to investors outside India,” he wrote. He also highlighted the compelling reasons for businesses to stay and build in India. “Living in India and incorporating at home also saves the future of high taxes for your return. Also, the country’s growing waterfall of capital, ever-regulating regulations, and the growth of the IPO markets have made India a more attractive place than ever.”The document comes at a time when the United States is preparing to change its immigration laws for international students. Currently, under the “Duration of Status” (D/S) system, students can remain in the US for as long as they continue to study and comply with their visa requirements. There is no fixed end date for their stay. Under the new law, students are allowed to stay for a fixed period of time, possibly up to four years in most cases.
