The team behind itRamayanaHe recently made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con to showcase his highly anticipated film. Director Nitesh Tiwari, Producer Namit Malhotra and the actors Ranbir Kapoor i Yash interacted with fans and talked about the ambitious project. During one of the interactions, Ranbir also addressed speculations about his future projects, strongly denying reports linking him to Dhoom 4.In a chat on Review Nation’s YouTube channel, the host noted that Yash would next be seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups alongside Ramayana, while mentioning that Ranbir was set to headline Dhoom 4. The actor, however, rubbished the claim.“No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. Which is directed by Mr. Sanjay Bhansali. It should be released on January 24 next year,” he said. Interestingly, the official announcement for Love & War lists January 21st as the release date. Ranbir also made no reference to Animal Park, the sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Speculations about Ranbir leading the next installment of the Dhoom franchise have been doing the rounds for several years now. In 2024, a Pinkvilla report, quoting a source, claimed that producer Aditya Chopra believed that Ranbir was the ideal choice to take the franchise forward. The report further suggested that the actor had shown interest after extensive discussions. At the same time, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared pictures of Ranbir’s new look, fueling rumors that it was for Dhoom 4 or Animal Park.Speculation continued until 2025, with Peeping Moon reporting that Vicky Kaushal was also being considered for a role in the film. However, Yash Raj Films has not made any official announcement about the project.The Dhoom franchise started in 2004 with Abhishek Bachchan playing ACP Jai Dixit and Uday Chopra playing Ali, a petty criminal who later becomes his trusted ally. John Abraham starred the dapper thief Kabir Sharma, while Esha Deol and Rimi Sen played pivotal roles.The series expanded with Dhoom 2 in 2006, featuring Hrithik Roshan as master thief Aryan Singhania and Aishwarya Rai as Sunheri Kaur.
