Ajay Devgn‘Dhamaal 4’ started its theatrical run on a strong note, delivering an opening day performance that surpassed early business estimates. The film’s Indian gross collection stands at around Rs 16.50 crore. The film earned an additional Rs 5 crore overseas, taking its total worldwide gross to around Rs 21.50 crore on its opening day.

‘Dhamaal 4’ exceeds expectations on opening day

The film’s opening day collections comfortably beat initial projections, which had pegged its Day 1 earnings at Rs 12-13 crore. In contrast, ‘Dhamaal 4’ benefited from a steady increase in rides throughout the day, ending with an overall occupancy of 24%.According to the report, the film’s strongest audience came from key urban and mass markets like Maharashtra and Delhi-NCR, where the franchise has traditionally enjoyed a loyal audience base.

Competence between languages

The opening of ‘Dhamaal 4’ is made even more remarkable considering the box office rush. The film shared screens with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’, Telugu action drama ‘Lenin’ and Hollywood releases ‘Evil Dead Burn’ and live action ‘Moana’.Despite the competition, the Ajay Devgn-directed comedy managed to emerge as the highest-grossing new release of the day, putting it in a favorable position heading into its opening weekend. The film is expected to witness a huge jump in the collections on Saturday and Sunday, with the help of good word of mouth and audience feedback.The film will run for a week before facing additional competition at the box office from Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, which also has a huge fan base in the country.
