Ahmed Khan‘Welcome to the Jungle’, the multi-protagonist action comedy, with a cast headed by Akshay KumarSuniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, has entered its second weekend at the box office right in the midst of a major industry clash. As expected, YRF’s big budget spy thriller ‘Alpha’ starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Bobby Deol has opened wide and has started dominating the lion’s share of the screens and the impact of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’s 8th and 9th numbers is already visible. Still, the film’s consistent first week run has given it enough cushion to keep moving towards the symbolic Rs 100 crore milestone, even as its daily numbers come down sharply.With “Welcome to the Jungle” about to begin its second weekend, it is expected to close somewhere in the Rs 2-3 crore nett range. The 10th (second Sunday) could see a marginal increase if weekend inflows hold, potentially in the Rs 2.5-3.5 crore range. The second weekend collection is likely to adjust between Rs 1-2 crore nett per day as the number of shows of the film continues to dwindle during the week.
