The OTT banner behind the live-action drama showed a glimpse of the series at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 24, 2026, where the cast shared a few words about the project, per Deadline. The teaser was revealed during the show’s H Room panel, incl Hunter Schafer, Michelle Yeohand the creative team. Set 50 years after the previous installment of the franchise, ‘Blade Runner 2099’ follows a fugitive in futuristic Los Angeles, not for humanity, who leaves behind her past and takes on a new identity: Blade Runner. Cora is forced to cooperate with a replicant, Olwen, to track down the fugitive who is hiding the truth that would bring down the fragile city.“Replicants, they keep taking everything,” Schafer says in the trailer, before adding, “How much longer until we have nothing? Until we are nothing?” For the uninitiated, Replicants are the synthetic humans who prefer destruction, while Blade Runners are the police officers who hunt them down to kill.

‘Blade Runner 2099’: cast and release

The cast of ‘Blade Runner 2099’ includes Hunter Schafer as Cora and Michelle Yeoh as Olwen.
