“Koodal” drew widespread comparisons to “Charlie”
Bibin explained that the trolling started after ‘Koodal’ started playing. Many social media users claimed that his character resembled Charlie, the much-loved character played by Dulquer Salmaan in the 2015 film of the same name.

Recalling that difficult phase, Bibin said that Dulquer contacted him personally and asked him not to be affected by the online criticism.Bibin said: “DQ is a good human being. When Koodal was released, I had to deal with a lot of trolls because people said that I had tried to become Charlie and failed. There were countless trolls. During that time, DQ sent me a message and told me not to take it to heart.”The actor said the message came when he needed encouragement the most and helped him deal with the negativity surrounding the film.
