The sequel to Bhagam Bhag might be coming sooner than fans think. Discussions about this began last year, and it was later confirmed that a sequel to the 2006 film is indeed being made, but with a cast change: Manoj Bajpayee assumes the role that Govinda played. Now, new clues about it have appeared on social networks.

Filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa, best known for directing ‘Dream Girl’ and its sequel, took to X on Tuesday to share a cryptic update: “Bas thoda aur intzaar…uske baad saare ‘SIGNAL’ khulne waale hain…” The reference is to Signal, a much-loved song from ‘Bhagam Bhaag’, composed by Pritam Chakraborty and played by Remo Fernandes and Suzanne D’Mello.

Actor Paresh Rawal’s response to the post added to the fans’ excitement. All set to reprise his role in ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’, he posted it again with a simple reply, “AMEN!” In addition, Akshay Kumar he is also confirmed to appear in the film.

Over the years, ‘Bhagam Bhag’ has come to achieve cult status. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film follows three men in a theater group who travel to London to stage a play, only to find themselves caught up in a high-profile murder case.
A rocky road to production
Before even going into production, ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ ran into problems. Raaj was appointed director in March this year, but things got complicated due to a three-film commitment he had with producer Ektaa Kapoor’s production house. As he had not obtained a no-objection certificate from her, a breach of contract dispute ensued, with allegations that he had signed on to an outside project without returning the advance he had received to direct a third film for her. By May, however, the two had made peace, even posting photos together on Instagram.
