Ather Energy has launched the new 450X Overtones range in India, bringing a cosmetic update and faster charging solutions to its popular electric scooters. The base model is priced at Rs 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom) and the updated model offers three new color options, a more powerful charger and the latest Atherstack software features, while the mechanical packaging remains the same.The biggest visual update is the new Overtone range, which introduces three new paint schemes: Silent White, Space Gray and Moonlight Grey. Buyers opting for these new color schemes will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.In addition to the new colors, Ather also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now comes with a 900W charger instead of the earlier 700W charger. The company claims the new charger can reduce charging time by nearly 30%.The 450X Overtones series is also equipped with the latest Atherstack 7 software platform. It features Voice on Ather, allowing riders to use voice commands to perform functions such as navigation, locating charging stations and adjusting display brightness. The software also introduces several new safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects accidents and automatically sends a text message to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which warns users when parking in areas prone to theft or towing, and LockSafe, which allows owners to secure the scooter’s motor remotely via the Ather app.Ather also highlighted its Halo smart helmet ecosystem, which integrates the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard and helmet for hands-free communication and audio capabilities.Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. The update is limited to cosmetic enhancements, software improvements and faster charging, with no changes to the powertrain or performance specs.
