Aamir Khan is no longer attached to the upcoming biopic based on businessman Ashneer Grover. The actor, who was earlier reported to be fronting the project alongside Shraddha Kapoorhas parted ways after differences over the film’s creative direction. Despite his departure, those responsible are moving forward with the project and have already started looking for a new lead actor.
Creative differences leads to Aamir’s exit
According to Bollywood Hungama, earlier this year, reports suggested that Aamir Khan had teamed up with first-time director Rahul Mody for a film inspired by the life of the controversial start-up. Shraddha Kapoor was also said to be on board as the female lead, with the film expected to begin production in March 2027 after Aamir finishes work on his period drama with Ashutosh Gowarikar. However, the latest developments indicate that the collaboration ended before filming could begin.Reports claimed that Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups and was keen to enter the zone with Ashneer Grover’s biopic. He sat down with the script and developed it to the best of his sensibility. But eventually, he ended up having creative differences with Rahul Mody, which led to the duo’s split.
Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor continue with the project
Although Aamir has walked away from the film, the project itself is still very much alive. According to the report, Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor are committed to go ahead with the biopic and have now started scouting for a younger actor to play Ashneer Grover.“The real-life couple is now looking to recast the film and get a relatively younger name to play the role of Ashneer Grover. Talks are on with two-three main names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon,” added the report.
Shraddha Kapoor to produce and star
Apart from playing a pivotal role on screen, Shraddha Kapoor will also be supporting the film as a producer in association with a leading studio. She is expected to play the role of Ashneer Grover’s wife, making the project a significant addition to her roster as both an actor and a producer.
