Court approves Ansiba Hassan's complaint against Tini Tom, orders police to register FIR

Actor and former joint secretary of AMMA Ansiba Hassan has gotten a big boost in her legal battle against another actress Little Tom. The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Court entertained the criminal petition filed by Ansiba and asked the police to lodge an FIR and investigate the case as per her allegations. This decision was taken by the High Court after Ansiba asked for its help because the police did not take any action on her previous complaints.

Court orders FIR after police refused to register a case

This case arises out of the allegations that Ansiba made against Tini tom regarding the statements he made, of a defamatory and communal nature. According to English Mathrubhumi, Ansiba Haasan said baseless accusations had been made against her, including calling her a “jihadist” and trying to convert Tini Tom’s driver to another religion. However, after conducting a preliminary investigation and recording statements of both actors and officials of the Association of Malayalam Cinema Artists (AMMA), the police concluded that there was insufficient material to register an FIR. Unhappy with the decision, Ansiba moved the Magistrate’s Court, which has now ordered the police to launch a formal criminal investigation.

Defamation and communal allegations under investigation

According to the orders of the court, the next phase of the process will be the investigation. The police are supposed to file the FIR and look into all the allegations made in the complaint, including defamation and communal comments. The investigative process will also involve gathering more evidence and taking more statements from those involved in the case.

Case is gaining attention within the Malayalam film industry

The development has generated considerable interest among members of the Malayalam film fraternity as both Ansiba Hassan and Tini Tom are popular figures in the industry associated with AMMA. The court’s decision is a milestone in the case, as the matter has now moved to the next level of investigation. With the police starting the investigation process, the emphasis will be on the outcome.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on a legal hearing as reported by a third-party source.
