Just days away from its big screen debut, ‘Alpha’ has ticked one of the last boxes before release. The Alia Bhatt and the Sharvari starrer has now been granted its censor certificate, giving audiences a better idea of what’s in store when the action thriller hits theaters this week.
Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’ gets UA 16+ certificate
According to a News18 report, Shiv Rawail-directed ‘Alpha’ has received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film will hit theaters worldwide on July 3 and marks Alia’s first action role. The CBFC listing has also revealed the film’s running time, confirming that “Alpha” will clock in at 140 minutes, or 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Beyond the certification, the CBFC website has also shared the official synopsis of the film, giving fans a glimpse of Alia’s character Sita. It reads: “Driven by revenge, a young girl destroys anyone in her path until her journey uncovers the hidden truths of her own life. She is bold, cold and willing to cross any line, hurting anyone who stands in her way.”

Starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, the film is also watchable Bobby Deol i Anil Kapoor take on important roles. It is the seventh entry in the Spy Universe and the fourth standalone film in the franchise, following in the footsteps of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘War 2’. With ‘Alpha’, the franchise welcomes Alia as its first female spy.
