Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan has been quite candid about her relationship with fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare. The two had been dating for a while and got married two years ago. When her father married Gauri Spratt, a video from earlier this year resurfaced online, with the couple getting candid about their first fight and battling cyclical depression.
Ira Khan talks about wrestling with Nupur Shikhare and battling depression
In an interview in April, the couple had opened up about their life together. During her chat with Vibhor Adnani on her Instagram page, ‘Shutter Bonsai’, Ira candidly shared how excited she was the first time they fought, which made Shikhare laugh and ask him to continue telling the story. During the interview, Ira reveals that she was excited about their fight, because she wanted Shikhare to take the medication even though he refused to take it.However, she shared a little more context and added that she has cyclical depression, although her husband is her biggest supporter. She shared during the interview that “We have arguments. Kabhi kabhi, woh mere depression se thak jaata hai (Sometimes, she gets tired of my depression). I have cyclical depression… it comes in phases… sometimes, there are dips. Now we both are better at catching them.”To this, Nupur quickly replied that she doesn’t care about the name, she just knows that she will be there when Ira is feeling down and things are not right. He also added in the interview that, “You want to call it depression or whatever… Keep it. I don’t understand… all I understand is that you’re in pain. So we will do whatever it takes to do that. We will fight this together.”

During the same interview, Khan and Shikhare had also shared how they got to know each other for the first time and how their relationship blossomed. Ira revealed that the two met during a shoot where she had been working as a make-up artist, and from the very beginning she had thought Shikhare was attractive, which led to the two talking to each other, which turned into a relationship.The video from April resurfaced online when Ira’s father Aamir Khan married his partner Gauri Spratt at her residence in a private and intimate ceremony. The actor and businessman’s wedding was attended by family, close friends and some co-stars over the years, and was registered under the special marriage law.
