Delhi University (DU) has received an overwhelming response in its admissions for the 2026-2027 academic session, with over 1.9 lakh candidates applying through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). As the admission process goes into its crucial phase, the university is expected to release the first list of seat allotment on July 16.University officials said that while over 1.90 lakh applicants have completed their registration, over 1.64 lakh applicants have submitted their programs and preferences to the college, bringing the admissions process closer to the first round of seat allotment.
More than 1.64 lakh candidates have completed subject to preferences
According to the university, 1,90,645 people enrolled in CSAS higher education. Of these, 1,64,098 applicants have completed Part II, which requires candidates to list their education and offer their preferred courses and colleges.The university has requested candidates who have not completed the process to do so before the deadline. Once the submission window is closed, the settings will be closed automatically, and no further changes will be allowed.Officials have repeatedly advised students to review their choices carefully, as acceptance into subsequent competitions will depend on the information provided this time.
A one-time application window is open for applicants
In response to requests from candidates who reported errors in their application forms, Delhi University has opened a one-time control center at the entrance of CSAS.The correction window enables applicants to correct errors in previous registration submissions. The facility was launched after the university received several complaints from students who wanted the opportunity to correct intentional errors before the admissions process went through. The processing period coincides with the final phase of undergraduate enrollment and application submission.
Acceptance into 73 undergraduate programs
For the academic session of 2026-27, Delhi University is offering admission to 73 graduate programs in 69 colleges and academic departments.The university has offered 71,624 seats through the CSAS admission process. In addition, approximately 150 combinations under the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program are offered, giving candidates a variety of educational options.Admissions under the major categories, including sports and extracurricular activities, will be adjusted based on the program and college interests presented by the applicant.
The first episode will be released on July 16
The first list of applicants for higher education will be published on July 16. Candidates who will receive a seat will have to accept the offer and complete the admission process within the established schedule.After paying the admission fee, students can reserve their assigned seats or choose a promotion option that can be considered as their preferred program or college in the next row. Those who choose to upgrade will also be allowed to change their preferences before the next distribution period.
Virtual Wallet was introduced to simplify payments
To make the admission process easier, the university has introduced a wallet payment system.Under the system, candidates who are promoted after paying the previous entry fee will be automatically upgraded. This service is expected to eliminate repeated payments and simplify the financial process during the many consultations.Delhi University aims to complete two rounds of admissions before the start of the new academic session on July 28.
Accreditation of higher education and professionals is also progressing
Along with graduate admissions, the university has continued to offer advanced and professional programs.The third list offered for two-year higher education, including programs related to the arts such as Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), Master of Physical Education (MPEd), and Music, has already been released. New allocations have been made for full-time undergraduate and graduate programs, with thousands of people confirming their acceptance by freezing their allotted seats.The university has announced the registration of one-year undergraduate programs for students who have completed a four-year degree under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022 in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.Meanwhile, admissions to BTech programs and integrated law courses are also going through a split phase and admissions process, as Delhi University enters its busiest season with thousands of candidates vying for limited seats in its colleges.
