Maharashtra extends CAP registration deadline for engineering admissions: Check last date and key points here
The Maharashtra CET Cell has given engineering aspirants more time to complete Centralized Admission Process (CAP) registration by extending the last date to July 16, 2026. This decision follows the resolution of a technical issue involving the retrieval of JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker. Applicants are requested to update or amend their applications before the revised deadline so that they can be considered for the merit list.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell has extended the last date for online registration under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for Engineering Degree admissions for the academic year 2026-27 to July 16, 2026. The extension comes after the government resolved a technical glitch that prevented several candidates from getting their JEE Main percentages through DigiLocker while submitting their forms. The CAP registration process started on July 2, 2026, and admission is done based on the candidates’ performance in MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026.

A name mismatch in DigiLocker caused a result failure

According to the CET Cell, candidates’ JEE Main percentile scores are being returned directly from DigiLocker as per the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).However, several candidates faced technical issues as the names appearing on their JEE Main scorecards did not exactly match the names registered in their DigiLocker account. As a result, the system was not able to automatically calculate their JEE Main percentage from the internet. The CET Cell said it has contacted the NTA to resolve the issue, enabling the affected candidates to access and import their JEE main scores through the CAP portal.

Applicants are advised to complete pending applications

Candidates who were earlier unable to collect their JEE Main percentile scores have been advised to log into the CAP portal, retrieve their scores and complete the application process before the last date.Officials have also given preference to employers who have already verified their CAP forms without including their JEE Main percentile. Such candidates can now open their applications, retrieve missing scores and make necessary corrections before resubmitting them.

Different procedures for opening jobs

The CET Cell has made it clear that the process of opening the documents will depend on the document verification process chosen by the candidate.Applicants whose applications have been verified through E-Scrutiny must submit a grievance request through the portal to get their applications processed. Meanwhile, candidates whose documents have been verified through Physical Scrutiny will need to go to their respective control center (FC) or Scrutiny Center (SC) in person to request the opening of their applications.

What you need to do to have full programs only

The CET Cell has urged all the concerned parties to complete the submission or rectify the time lapse. It warned that applications that are not complete after the set date will not be considered for the preparation of the engineering acceptance list. Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that all required details, including their JEE Main percentile scores wherever applicable, are correctly updated before the registration window closes on July 16, 2026.Here it is the link to the official notification of MAH CET application deadline.
