“Alpha” continued its theatrical run, maintaining a steady grip on the domestic box office as it neared the worldwide mark of Rs 75 crore.According to early box office estimates on sacnilk, YRF action thriller Spy Universe, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, collected around Rs 2.85 crore nett in India on Wednesday. The film grossed approximately Rs 3.36 crore domestically from 7,321 shows.With its latest earnings, “Alpha” has taken its net collection in India to around Rs 44.95 crore, while its gross collection in India now stands at Rs 53.59 crore.The film has also continued to perform consistently in international markets. Early estimates suggest that it earned Rs 1.50 crore overseas gross on the 6th, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 21.30 crore. The film’s worldwide gross has now reached around Rs 74.89 crore, which puts it on the verge of crossing the Rs 75 crore mark globally.The film started its journey at the box office with a solid opening day net collection of Rs 9.25 crore, before witnessing a healthy growth in the opening weekend. The film earned around Rs 11.50 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 13.25 crore nett on Sunday.Like most theatrical releases, the spy thriller experienced the expected midweek slowdown but managed to pull in steady numbers. After earning Rs 3.85 crore on Monday, the film saw a slight rise to Rs 4.25 crore on Tuesday, helped by discounted ticket prices at various multiplexes, before collecting Rs 2.85 crore on Wednesday.The film will now look to capitalize on the coming weekend to build on its momentum and comfortably cross the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide.Set in the expanding YRF spy universe, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor i Hrithik Roshan in fundamental roles.
