Veteran actress Lissy is back in acting after a gap of 38 years as she reunites with filmmaker Priyadarshan for a new commercial. The comeback marks his first project under Priyadarshan’s direction since his 1988 classic ‘Chithram’. The reunion with Priyadarshan also sparked nostalgia among film buffs who remember the duo’s successful collaborations in the 1980s.Along with Lissy, he also has his daughter, the actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. The mother-daughter duo are sharing screen space for the first time in a project directed by Priyadarshan. Veteran actor Prabhu Ganesan is also a part of the ad.
Lissy shares an emotional note about reuniting with Priyadarshan
Lissy announced the project by posting photos from the shoot on Instagram.She wrote, “It’s been 38 years since I last worked with Priyettan, and I’m so happy to be working with him again! Our last film together was the iconic ‘Chitram’. And the best part is that I play my real daughter Kalyani Priyadarsan’s reel mother in this ad film.”
The actress remembers nostalgic moments of filming
Lissy also shared how comfortable she felt as she faced the camera again. He credited Priyadarshan for making the experience effortless and recalled a light-hearted exchange that took place during the shoot.She wrote, “When Abhilash, Priyettan’s executive director, asked if I was nervous on set after all these years, I said no, because Priyettan knows me inside out, from my best to my worst facial angle to make me look my best. (Priyettan overheard this and quipped, ‘I know her best and worst behaviors too!’!). tears! The whole shoot was a picnic spot.”Expressing gratitude, Lissy thanked the brand for giving her the opportunity to reunite with Priyadarshan and Kalyani through the ad.
