The ‘Bharatanatyam’ franchise will continue with a third installment. The makers have officially announced ‘Bharatanatyam 3: Rasaleela’ which introduces a horror comedy theme to the popular Malayalam series.Krishnadas Murali will once again take over as both writer and director, reports Asianet News.

Fans are hoping for another commercial success

The ad has received a huge response on social media. Although the first ‘Bharatanatyam’ did not emerge as a huge box office success, it gained positive word of mouth and built a strong fan base. The encouraging response from the audience prompted the makers to develop a sequel. This decision paid off as ‘Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam’ enjoyed a much stronger theatrical run and emerged as a commercial success.

‘Mohiniyattam’ performed well at the box office

According to Sacnilk, “Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam” opened with a gross collection of Rs 31 lakh on the first day. The film registered an Indian net collection of Rs 28 lakh on its opening day.The sequel also faced competition from Jayasurya’s Aadu 3, which entered theaters with a huge pre-release buzz.ETimes awarded “Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam” a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars. Critics praised the film’s technical departments and performances. He stated, “The makers wanted to enhance the theatrical feel of the film with their music and Electronic Kili has worked perfectly in this regard. The technical team of Cinematographer Bablu Aju, Editor Bablu Aju and Art Director Diljith Das have also done an excellent job capturing the momentum, be it calm or tense, of the exterior and interior shots.” Saiju is perfect as the person the family turns to in a difficult situation, but he’s just as clueless as the rest. Baby Jean is a great addition to the mix.
