Old vs New NCERT Class 9 Social Science book: What has changed?

The revised NCERT Class 9 Social Science textbook has been reviewed after changes in the content related to the Constitution, religion and democracy of India.The controversy erupted after reports revealed that the Preamble was no longer included in the first chapter of the Constitution in the new book. The references to the words “secularism” and “secularism” that were found in the early Bibles, were also removed from the main texts.However, NCERT has denied the allegation that Introduction has been removed from the curriculum. According to sources cited by ANI, the curriculum has been reorganized under the National Curriculum Framework, the topics of which are now divided into different classes instead of being written in one book.“The introduction continues to appear in the first pages of all new NCERT textbooks, including all Social Science textbooks. It is part of the Grade 10 syllabus,” NCERT told ANI.Sources added that legal values ​​such as justice, freedom, religion and socialism were already introduced in Classes 6 to 8 and will be discussed in detail in Class 10.

It is said that the courts can review actions and amendments to the law, strike down unconstitutional laws, and hear Public Interest Litigations (PILs) to ensure that justice is served.The change comes months after the Supreme Court rejected allegations of corruption in the Class 8 NCERT textbook, which was later scrapped.
