IIT Kanpur extends online admission deadline for MTech, MSc and PG Diploma 2026; see revised schedule
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has extended the deadline to apply for admission to its online graduate programs for the September 2026 academic session. Interested candidates can now submit their applications through the official portal.According to the revised schedule, candidates for the IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test can submit their applications till July 1, 2026. Those who have not applied for the entrance test can apply till July 10, 2026.

- Wireless Networks and Machine Learning (Win-ML)
- Engineering Engineering and Project Management
- Master of Science (MSc)
- Economics and Data Analytics
- Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma)
- Cyber Security
These programs are designed for both graduates and working professionals who wish to improve their skills or develop a career in technology and management.
what to do
Applicants for online MTech programs must have a valid bachelor’s degree with 55 percent marks.Admission will be provided through:
- IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test, or
- Admission tests in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), Common Admission Test (CAT), Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Candidates who have qualified in this type of exam can be exempted from IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test and can apply till July 10, 2026.
Application fees
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 5,000 while submitting the application form. Payments must be made online.
