Homi Adajania‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanonetc Rashmika Mandannahas completed a strong first week at the box office and now enters day 9 of its theatrical run, facing its toughest competition yet, the arrival of Akshay Kumar starrer comic entertainer ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.

The film got off to an impressive start, opening with a domestic net of Rs 13.50 crore on Day 1. Positive multiplex growth boosted Day 2 collections by 20.4% to Rs 16.25 crore before the film peaked on Day 3, its opening Sunday, with Rs 17.75 crore, bagging a total of 47 million rupees weekend.The typical weekday correction started from Monday, with Day 4 bringing in Rs 6.75 crore, remaining flat till Tuesday at another Rs 6.75 crore. There was a drop to Rs 5.25 crore on Wednesday, followed by a 19% drop on Thursday to Rs 4.25 crore, closing the first week. On Day 8 it added another Rs 4.25 crore from 5,965 shows, taking its first week India nett total to Rs 70.50 crore.
