‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have changed the perspective of Hindi cinema. So much so, that a large section of the audience is also comparing every movie to this one Aditya Dhar directory because a new reference point has been set. Veteran filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has praised director Aditya Dhar for staying true to his vision while making ‘Dhurandhar’, revealing that the filmmaker refused to take shortcuts despite facing years of obstacles. Sharing his admiration on X (formerly Twitter), Gupta recounted a conversation with a crew member who had witnessed Dhar’s relentless commitment throughout the film’s journey.According to Sanjay, a member of the ‘Dhurandhar’ team talked about how Aditya remained steadfast during all phases of the project, from pre-production to post-production. Sharing the anecdote, he wrote, “Yesterday I met a crew member of Dhurandar, who saw Aditya Dhar fighting for his vision every day of pre-production, shooting and post. No shortcuts. It was conviction versus convenience. That’s the difference. Filmmaking is not playing ‘SHOOTING-SHOOTING.'”Earlier, during an appearance on the ‘InControversial Podcast’, Sanjay had opened up about the effort that went into bringing ‘Dhurandhar’ to life. He revealed that Aditya spent almost four years putting together the ambitious project before it finally got off the ground.“It’s very clear that Aditya Dhar is inspired by filmmakers from the 80s and 90s. I can clearly see those influences and that style of world-building. There’s no doubt that Aditya Dhar is an exceptionally intelligent filmmaker. But that said, he spent four years trying to put this project together. As hard as it is or not, he said he had a successful film or not,” he said.Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay DuttR. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sarah Arjun i Rakesh Bedi in fundamental roles. The action drama emerged as a massive commercial success, earning around Rs 1,306 crore worldwide at the box office, according to Sacnilk.
