Now, the makers are reportedly picking up plans for an extravagant overseas release that was stalled earlier.As stated by News18, reports suggest that discussions around an international launch event have resumed, with Dubai once again emerging as the preferred destination for the film’s grand launch.
Premiere in Dubai back to cards
The production team, led by director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, is said to be actively exploring the possibility of hosting a grand release in the UAE. Earlier this year, the proposal had been put on hold due to geopolitical tensions in West Asia.However, with the situation believed to have stabilized following the recent diplomatic developments between the US and Iran, the makers have restarted talks on bringing ‘Ramayana’ to Dubai for a spectacular launch.Internally, the event is being called a “desert premiere,” and October 28 is currently being considered as a tentative date.
Location scouting is already underway for ‘Ramayana’
Preparations for the proposed event have reportedly begun, with several locations in Dubai being assessed for the high-profile premiere.If the plans materialize, the event is expected to bring together the main cast of the film, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, who are likely to attend the celebration along with the filmmakers.A source told Mid-Day: “In April, the idea was shelved because the timing was not right. Now that the situation has eased considerably, the team is again exploring the feasibility of bringing ‘Ramayana’ to Dubai. The city was always the preferred choice for its capacity to host large-scale events and the Indian diaspora.”
A star-studded narrative of the epic
Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ has one of the biggest casts assembled for an Indian film. Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita. Kannada superstar Yash takes on the role of Ravana and Sunny Deol will be seen playing Lord Hanuman. Ravi Dubey is also a part of the much-awaited mythological drama in a pivotal role.Since the project was announced, every update, from casting and behind-the-scenes announcements to production milestones, has generated a lot of excitement among audiences.Backed by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ is being staged on a grand scale and is slated to hit theaters during Diwali 2026. If the Dubai event goes ahead as planned, it could become one of the biggest international releases ever for an Indian film.
