Contact numbers and email addresses were made publicly available, putting the stars’ personal information at risk due to accessibility. Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler flagged the leak last month, calling it one of the biggest celebrity-related exposes to date.

Jeremiah Fowler became familiar with the breach and the findings suggest that the databases contained nearly 666,000 records dating from 2019 to 2026, consisting of marketing materials such as press releases, stored in a cloud system, according to The Sun. One of the backup files titled “contacts” contained personal information. All records were tied at the annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York, which Robert De Niro was released in 2002. Other victim names include Danny Boyle, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Douglas, George Lucas and more.Fowler suggested the leak was human error, adding: “It’s really unique because these people are very guarded and protective of their personal privacy, their contacts, their phone numbers.” The time period for the details exposed on the internet has not been tracked. Additionally, the information was removed from public access after festival officials were contacted.“What was really interesting is that there was a folder that captured their device information from the email. It would say what version of an iPhone they were using, if they were using Safari, what version of software they were using. That could give the bad guys a lot of additional information,” he added of the breach.Jeremiah Fowler believes there has been no malpractice by hackers or scammers, as evidence of ransomware or automated notes usually appear. This incident raises concerns about personal, as well as professional, information stored in the cloud and its security.
