While fans await the release of the highly anticipatedRamayana‘ trailer, the director of the film, Nitesh Tiwari and leading men, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, helped build excitement around the ambitious mythological epic at San Diego Comic-Con. While talking about the film, director Tiwari teased fans that the film, slated for a Diwali 2026 release, will have them counting the days till Diwali 2027.
‘Ramayana’ have’Baahubali end in the style ‘
In an interview with IGN, the director revealed that ‘Ramayana Part 1’ will conclude with a ‘cliffhanger’. Talking about the decision to split the story into two films, Tiwari said, “Where we leave the first part is something that, you can call it a cliffhanger, something that will make people want to see the second part the moment they leave the theater.”The filmmaker explained, “His story deserves two parts and it can’t be told in just one. We just decided that it would probably be the best part where we can leave it for part one and leave the rest for part two.”

The announcement came during the film’s panel on July 24, where the team, including producer Namit Malhotra, shared exclusive images from the film and interacted with fans. The project has generated a lot of buzz following the presentation at Comic-Con, where attendees were treated to exclusive images from the film.Leaked clips from the event, especially featuring Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, have gone viral on social media, creating a wave of excitement among fans. The official trailer of the film was scheduled to be released on July 24, after its debut at Comic-Con, however, the makers announced a delay in the trailer release after Sony Pictures came on board to handle the film’s global distribution outside India.
The cast of ‘Ramayana’
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash essays the role of Ravana. The cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kunal Kapoor as Indra Dev, Arun Govil as Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva.

Meanwhile, rumors are rife that the trailer for the film will finally be released online this week, ahead of the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is also backed by Sony Pictures. According to online buzz, the trailer will be attached with the superhero film and will enjoy a global release on July 30.
