The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Exam 2026. Candidates who have applied for the exam can now download their e-admit card from the official website, upsconline.nic.in.CMS Examination 2026 will be held on August 2, 2026, which is a Sunday. This will be done in different places in the country.UPSC has made it clear that no physical or paper admit card will be sent to the candidates. The e-admit card is the only one being issued, and candidates must download and print it in advance. This publication should be protected until the final results of the CMS Exam 2026 are announced.

Items that candidates must bring to the test center
According to the press note issued by UPSC, the candidates should carry the following items to the study center:
- Printing of e-admit card
- A pen and a pencil
- Known evidence
- Water in a clear bottle
- Copies of personal photographs, wherever available
Photo ID card mentioned on e-admit card is mandatory for admission. If the candidate’s photograph on the e-admit card is not clear, he/she will need to bring a photo ID along with two passport size photographs. These images will be uploaded to the work that will be done in the same place, for each part that will be visible.Items not allowed insideUPSC has clearly listed the items that candidates cannot carry inside the examination hall. This includes:
- Cell phones
- Smart watches are digital watches
- Other IT tools
- Books
- Bags
- Any other valuable or expensive items
The organization also said that the management of the center does not prepare any place to store these prohibited items. So if a person wants to bring such an item, he has to make arrangements to keep it abroad, and UPSC will not be responsible for any loss.It is a common or simple watch allowed inside the exam hall. Smart watches, or watches with any special equipment that can be used for communication or hacking, are prohibited. Readings are also not allowed on objective type papers.Candidates have been told to carry a black pen. This document should be used to fill the OMR sheets for both the papers, as well as the list of candidates. UPSC has said that no other post will be used for this job.
Reporting period and entry rules
Candidates are advised to reach the exam venue at least one and half hour before the session starts. This time will be used for face verification, identity verification, and tampering.Entrance gates will close 30 minutes before the start of the exam. This means:
- For the Forenoon Session, entry closes at 9:00 AM
- For the Afternoon Session, entry closes at 1:30 PM
No one will be allowed to enter after these times, regardless of the reason. Candidates also cannot appear at any venue other than those mentioned on their e-admit card.UPSC has also warned that if a person is found carrying a mobile phone or any other electronic or communication device, even if it is switched off, action will be taken. This may include cancellation of vote, FIR or police complaint, and suspension from appearing in the remaining sessions or exam dates. The Board may also take any other action permitted under the rules of the examination.
Have you changed your name? Here’s what to do
If anyone has legally changed their name after applying for the exam, they must have a government-issued photo ID showing the changed name. This should be done at the test center in each session. Without this, the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.UPSC has requested all candidates to check whether their name, photograph and QR code on the e-admit card are correct. In case of any error, the candidates should write to the Commission immediately soe13.upsc@gov.in so that the matter is resolved in time.
