Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will close the registration window for Probationary Officer (PO) and Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment 2026 tomorrow, July 26, 2026. For the posts of Probationary Officer (PO), candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. IBPS PO, SO recruitment 2026: Selection process
The selection of a Probationary Officer (PO) includes a preliminary test, a comprehensive test, and a personality test.The preliminary exam will have 100 questions of 100 marks and will be held for 60 minutes. The main exam will have 170 questions of 200 marks and the duration will be 160 minutes.There will be a zero mark in the objective test. One fourth (0.25) of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer, while no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.For the recruitment of Specialist Officer (SO), candidates will undergo online test, main online test, and interview. Those who qualify the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the examination. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination and interview.
