According to Sacnilk reports, the film collected Rs 0.25 crore nett in India on 19. With this, “Welcome To The Jungle” has reached a total India nett collection of Rs 130.85 crore, and its domestic gross is Rs 155.48 crore. The overseas market also contributed to the film’s overall run. On the 19th, it grossed Rs 0.25 crore overseas, taking its total gross to Rs 33.10 crore. Combining both markets, the film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 188.58 crore.
Welcome to The Jungle’s strong opening week
The film opened strongly, earning Rs 63.75 crore nett on the first day. By the end of week 1, it had crossed the Rs 90 crore mark, and on the opening Sunday alone, it delivered a single-day high of Rs 24.75 crore. The worldwide gross also crossed the Rs 90 crore mark in the same period, with Week 1 closing at Rs 93.45 crore internationally.
What ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ is about
The story follows Rajeev, played by Akshay Kumar, an actor trying to save his career after a series of failures. Just when a quirky new project seems to offer him a chance at revival, things take an unexpected turn: a village mistakes his film crew for a genuine military unit, believing they’ve come to protect them from a feared criminal, Zataara, played by Jackie Shroff. No matter how much Rajeev makes it clear that he’s just an actor, he keeps getting dragged into one absurd situation after another, and the resulting confusion fuels much of the film’s comedy.
