Malayalam fantasy adventure ‘ARM’ (‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’) added another prestigious win to its journey at the 72nd National Film Awards. The film won the award for best female playback singer with Vaikom Vijayalakshmi being recognized for her rendition of ‘Angu Vaana Konilu’.The song was composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, while Manu Manjith penned the lyrics.

The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards, which recognize excellence in feature films, non-feature films and film writing, were announced on Saturday. The awards recognize films that were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) during the calendar year 2024.South Indian cinema enjoyed a successful outing in various categories. ‘Feminichi Fathima’ was nominated for Best Malayalam Film, while Dhanush-directed ‘Raayan’ won the Best Tamil Film award.Another highlight of the awards ceremony was Mammootty winning the Best Actor for his performance in ‘Bramayugam’. The veteran actor shared the honor with Kartik Aaryan who received the award for ‘Chandu Champion’.Among those who publicly celebrated the achievement were Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi, who shared heartfelt messages on social media.
