Actor and filmmaker Dhanush has shared an emotional reaction after bagging two awards at the 72nd National Film Awards. His directorial venture ‘Raayan’ won the best regional film award. At the same time, he received the Special Mention (Best Actor) for his performance in ‘Captain Miller’.Soon after the winners were announced, Dhanush reached out to X to express his gratitude.He wrote, “I am truly humbled and overwhelmed to have received the National Award for Best Regional Film for ‘Raayan’ and the National Award (Special Mention – Best Actor) for ‘Captain Miller’. My sincere thanks to the esteemed National Film Awards jury and selection committee.”He added, “My sincere thanks to the press, media and social media fraternity for their unwavering support throughout my career. This is my third National Award as an actor and my first National Award as a director. None of this would have been possible without my fans, the pillars of my strength. Dhanush also spoke about receiving special mention in ‘Captain Miller’. He explained that the role remains one of the performances he values most in his career.He wrote, “This recognition for ‘Captain Miller’ is especially close to me because I’ve always believed it to be my best performance to date. Veteran Malayalam superstar Mammootty also reacted after being honored at the 72nd National Film Awards.
