Toyota Kirloskar Motor today finally launched the new generation Toyota Hilux pickup truck in the Indian market. The pickup continues to use the IMV ladder-frame platform and is only available in dual-cab body style. The 2026 Toyota Hilux is available in three variants: the entry-level GX 4×2 AT priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, followed by the GX 4×4 AT priced at Rs 33.69 lakh. The top-spec VX 4×4 AT is priced at Rs 36.69 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Interested customers can book for pickup online or visit their nearest dealer, with deliveries starting in the second week of August.In terms of design, the updated Hilux gets a revised front end with slim LED headlamps, a honeycomb pattern grille with prominent ‘TOYOTA’ lettering, and a redesigned bumper with black inserts, LED fog lamps and silver skid plates. Flanked by black wheel arch cladding, roll cage, side sills, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, shark fin antenna and new 17-inch alloy wheels.
The rear of the pickup features vertically stacked LED taillights with C-shaped lighting elements, “TOYOTA” lettering on the tailgate and a bumper with integrated steps for easier access to the cargo bed. It’s available in six colors: Sulfur Metallic, Platinum White Pearl Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotion Red and Super White.Going inside, the Hilux gets a new dashboard that houses a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument panel, as well as a new three-spoke steering wheel with Toyota lettering. The feature list includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, cruise control, power and ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker sound system, a rear armrest with cup holders, a PM 2.5 air filter, a 360-degree camera, and Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes.The cabin features a mix of leatherette surfaces and hard plastics, while retaining physical controls for key functions. Compared to the global-spec model, the India-spec Hilux does not come with ADAS, 12.3-inch digital instrument panel or dual-zone automatic air conditioning. Instead, it comes with a 7-inch instrument display and manual air conditioning. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts.Talking about the powertrain, the Hilux comes with the same 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 204 hp and 500 Nm of power. It’s paired only with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In addition to the four-wheel drive (4×4) version, Toyota also offers a rear-wheel drive (4×2) version. 4×4 models continue to feature a low-range transfer case, electronic differential lock, multiple terrain modes, hill descent assist control, traction control and an automatic limited-slip differential.
