The star shared in her comments that women are still “on the sidelines” these days after reaching a certain age. He even compared the situation to big screen and OTT projects, revealing how he believes the latter offers much more freedom than films for certain roles.

While talking to Mid Day, the actress shared that she feels that Bollywood still continues to judge women after reaching a certain age. She stated, “On the big screen, a heroine always has a certain age. After that age, unlike heroes, who can continue to play leading roles even into their 60s, women are usually offered the roles of mothers or aunts.”However, addressing the changing paradigms of filmmaking and storytelling, he further commented that the rise of OTT has drastically changed this scenario. “In OTT, times have changed,” he added, further commenting on how micro-dramas are a popular concept online that will only grow in the future. “I think microdrama is here to stay because it’s quite short, given the phone screen. And because everyone has phones, the penetration is much higher,” he also shared.

The actress also appreciated how women in cinema are also often depicted as sex symbols on various occasions. He added: “Even today, some songs and the way they are filmed objectify women.” However, after the interview, she also shared that things are slowly changing in the industry, adding that “Earlier, women were often treated only as symbols**. Now, there are much more meaningful and meaty roles for them.”On the work front, the actress last appeared on the big screen in ‘Koi Jaane Na’ in 2021. She also worked in the serial ‘Life Hill Gayi’ in 2024. Apart from being an actress, Govitrikar is also a licensed doctor and psychologist, and used to work as a model.
